Update: The Cannon Effect kicked in this morning. 2" of new snow and it's still coming down hard! 

Happy Friday and good morning, Cannon. Yesterday was a beautiful day out there. The sun was shining, the sky was clear, temps were mild (comparatively), and shockingly, there was no wind! The snow was light, fast, and grippy across the mountain, and Skylight was lit! For all operational updates and the most up-to-date information, please check the mountain report.

There is a chance for snow showers through the day. Winds will be light at the base and a bit breezier at higher elevations. Temps will be in the low to mid-teens at the base and single digits at the summit. Be sure to bundle up.

The Groomers were out on 55 trails overnight. Your edges can look forward to machine groomed and packed powder snow surfaces this morning. Any natural or ungroomed trails that are marked "Open" are pending Patrol inspection. DO NOT DUCK ROPES. THIS IS FOR YOUR SAFETY AND TO MANAGE THE WORKLOAD ON PATROL.

6 lifts are scheduled to spin today. The Aerial Tram will open at 8:15am for first tracks. Peabody Quad, Cannonball Quad, Zoomer Triple, Tuckerbrook Quad, and The Mittersill Double will all spin at 8:30am.

Terrain Parks: We currently have 4 terrain parks and Parkway Park is OPEN! We still have a small setup on the lowest section of Gremlin up the hill from Notchview Lodge. Huckerbrook Park is set up with 10 small features including 8 jumps and 2 small boxes. Tossup has 6 large jumps, 1 hip, and 6 rail features. 

Race Training: Race on Baron's. Trail closed to public.

Uphill Safety Notice: The Skinning Route is OPEN. 

Please familiarize yourself with our Uphill Policy before starting your ascent. Failure to adhere to the policy will force us to close the skinning route. 

• You must have a valid season pass, or an uphill season pass. Pick up your uphill armband from Guest Services. Anyone without an armband will be turned around.
• The prescribed skinning route (from the bottom up): Lower Ravine to Middle Ravine to Upper Ravine to the first (lowest) entry onto Taft Slalom, Taft Slalom to the summit of Cannon Mountain. If any section of the route is closed the entire uphill route will be closed.
• You must remain on the downhill skier’s left (uphill skinner's right) during the entire uphill trek. 
• Please stay single file and as close to the edge of the trail as possible. 
• Any open route may be used for downhill traffic, but the skinner must utilize only the prescribed uphill route each time. Uphill travel is not permitted when Cannon Mountain is closed. Uphill policies can be found here: https://www.cannonmt.com/policies

Saturday, 2/22: Tossup Sessions: Park Event
We’ll work our way through Tossup in an open Jam Format – lap a feature as much as you want while we are on that feature. We will stop to session 4 different features, call out tricks, and throw out prizes, etc. We’re just going out there to have some fun and support our fellow park riders! 

Saturday, 2/22: Family Fun Night
Catch Pat Foley Band in the Cannonball Pub from 3pm-6pm. Ski Huckerbrook under the lights from 4pm-6:15pm. End the night with the torchlight parade and fireworks kicking off a 6:30pm. Tickets are FREE to ski Huckerbrook but you must have the Cannon RFID card with a valid ticket or season pass. Please Note: Huckbrook Handle Tow is CLOSED due to a mechanical issue. We will still open Huckerbook trail and park under the lights, but it will be hiking access only. 

Saturday, 3/1: Adaptive Sports Partners Shred-A-Thon 
Fundraise in advance of the event to support Adaptive Sports Partners. Then join us for a fun, on-snow vertical challenge. Tour, ski, or ride as many vertical feet as you can in one day. Prizes for most funds raised and vertical feet skied in multiple categories. Afterparty at Iron Furnace Brewing!
