Good morning, Cannon Mountain! An exciting day is in our midst! The day most of you have been waiting for has arrived. An event that is Christmas Day for some, an annual pilgrimage for others, but there's no debate, it's the raddest party in The Whites. Pit Viper presents Cannon Mountain 80's Day. Come in your finest neon, ripped denim, and onesies and win some swag. Amaze the crowd with your daffys, spread eagles, kosacks or cossacks (however you choose to spell it) in our Old School Duel and win even more swag. Wrap up your day in the pub with the band Fast Times and win some memories with your friends. Just a heads up, the pub has a different order of operations than in years past. A wrist band will be required to get in to see the band. Also, due to current weather, the 80's Day schedule and plan may change. All event details are below.
If you aren't excited by all of that, perhaps this 4"-5" of new snow will wet your whistle. We picked up some new snow overnight and snow will continue to fall through the day, with a slight possibility of a wintery mix in the base area starting in the afternoon. Base temps will be in the low to mid-30's while the summit stay in the low to mid-teens.
The Groomers were out on 47 trails overnight, rolling in that new snow into the snowpack. Please do not duck ropes! If something is closed and there isn't a rope, there will be signage, please observe and comply. Spring is an especially important time to be mindful of safety codes. Be aware, know your terrain, always stay in control. Conditions change constantly. Ski smart and make good choices.
6 lifts are scheduled to spin today: The Tram, The Peabody Quad, The Cannonball Quad, The Tuckerbrook Quad, The Zoomer Triple, and Mittersill Double. All lifts are scheduled to spin at 8:30AM except for The Tram which will have an 8:15AM load. This is the last weekend of The Tram for the ski season.
Toss-Up and Parkway terrain parks are open with a variety of jumps, knuckles, boxes, and rails between the two. Huckerbrook has taken a bow for the season as its snow was generously donated to fix the base area. The park on the lower section of Gremlin has also been dismantled for the Spring Events.
There will be race training on Barons Run.
