CURRENT CONDITIONS
Good afternoon, Cannon and happy Monday! Mother Nature may have only dropped 3-4" last night, but there were some serious drifts and stashes around the hill and there are definitely some leftovers to be had. Patrol dropped ropes on Bypass, Global Warming Glade, and briefly on Paulie's Folly to name a few.
Tonight, will be mostly clear skies with a slight chance for snow showers and flurries. Temps will continue to drop through the night. Temps at the base will be in the low-negative to low single digits and the summit will see negative, mid to low teens tomorrow. The summit will also be breezy. Please be sure to bundle up!
The groomers will be out on 44 trails tonight and you can expect powder and packed powder conditions to start your day. Snowmaking is making noise on Upper Baron's Run, Skyline, and Ridge Run. *Any ungroomed trails and/or trails that have snowmaking equipment or whales and are marked "Open" are pending Patrol inspection. PLEASE DO NOT DUCK ROPES. THIS IS FOR YOUR SAFETY AND TO MANAGE THE WORKLOAD ON PATROL.
5 lifts are scheduled to spin @9:00am: Peabody Quad, Tuckerbrook Quad, The Cannonball Quad, Zoomer Triple, and The Valar T-Bar.
Snowmaking: Upper Baron's Run, Skyline, Ridge Run
Terrain Parks: Tossup Park has heaps of snow and is the process of getting rebuilt. In the meantime, we will have small set up on the lowest section of Gremlin up the hill from Notchview Lodge. Huckerbrook Park is still set up with 10 small features including a jump line and a few rails.
Race Training: There will be race training on Taft Training Slope and a race on Time Zone. There is now skiable access to and from Mittersill.
The Skinning route is OPEN. To utilize the skiing route, you must have a valid season pass, or an uphill season pass. You will also need an armband which can be collected at Guest Services. Anyone on the mountain without an armband will be asked to turn around. The prescribed skinning route shall be (from the bottom up): Lower Ravine to…Middle Ravine to…Upper Ravine to…The first (lowest) entry onto Taft Slalom…Taft Slalom to the summit of Cannon Mountain and shall be marked as such on the downhill skier’s left side of the trails in question, utilizing a small sign mounted on bamboo and/or PVC and set well out of the travel area on the trails in question. Skinners shall travel on the downhill skier’s left (uphill skinner's right) during the entire uphill trek. Please stay single file and as close to the edge of the trail as possible.
Any open route may be used for downhill traffic, but the skinner must utilize only the prescribed uphill route each time. Uphill travel is not permitted when Cannon Mountain is closed. Uphill policies can be found here: https://www.cannonmt.com/policies
