Snowmaking and Construction Sub-Foreman - Cannon Mountain, Franconia, New Hampshire

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation, Cannon Mountain, has a full-time vacancy for a Snowmaking and Construction Sub-Foreman.

Summary:
Assists the Snowmaking and Construction Manager with oversight of and participation in snowmaking activity, and in the operation and maintenance of the snowmaking system, at Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway & Ski Area. Carries secondary authority at all times of the year regarding snowmaking operations, and primary authority when the Snowmaking & Construction Foreman is not on the property. Oversees the summer (ski) trail crew.

Responsibilities:
Oversee third shift snowmaking operations during the winter season, and interacts daily with both the first and second shift foremen and the Snowmaking & Construction Manager.

Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, supervising, scheduling and evaluating more than 30 employees within the snowmaking department.

Monitor time use and effectiveness of crew. Oversees summer trail crew; performs skilled lumbering and light and medium trail work; interacts daily with Snowmaking and Construction Manager, Trail Crew Supervisor, and Mountain Equipment Operator Foreman.

Assist the Snowmaking and Construction Manager with on and off-season projects, including, but not limited to, pipeline, valve, and welding projects on the mountain; performs maintenance on J-houses (junction houses) on both mountains, and performs maintenance work on both pumps and compressors in the snowmaking buildings.

Maintain and ensure adherence to departmental and agency safety policies and checks safety conditions of trails and agency buildings and grounds (and the use of all adequate PPE) as applicable to insure the well being of public and employees.

Operate several types of equipment safely, including, but not limited to, hand and power tools, on and off-road vehicles, snowcats, and snowmachines.

Write up annual reports of maintenance operations and inventories to keep accurate and timely records of the park for the Concord Office. Handles MV2R forms and various other departmental reports as needed.

Prepare requisitions for supplies and equipment to keep the park up to approved standards; makes recommendations on snowmaking equipment to be purchased and initiates contact with and between suppliers and the Cannon / FNSP business office.

Train crew members in the safe and efficient operation of snowmaking guns and all associated equipment. Maintains fan guns to ensure optimum performance; operates chairlifts at night (or on shifts as necessary) to support snowmaking crews. Acts as a member of the ski area/state park management team (operating committee) in the absence of the Snowmaking & Construction Foreman.

Franconia Notch State Park Shuttle Driver
FNSP shuttle services help bring hikers to and from trailheads through the State Park. Experience driving small busses or larger vehicles is preferred but not required. This position drives a 15-passenger van representing the State Park. CDL License is not required. Must have valid driver’s license. Must have strong customer service skills.

Franconia Notch State Park Retail
Operate register and assist with restocking inventory in all locations at Franconia Notch State Park. Works in both the Flume Gorge Retail Shop and Tramway Retail Shop as assigned. Experience using a POS system is preferred. Arranges and stocks shelves during slow periods. Able to demonstrate basic food preparation and ice cream scooping. Assists manager with inventory when requested.
Weekends Required – Shifts: 9AM - 5:30PM/9AM - 4PM.

Cannon Mountain PM Custodial
Responsible to maintaining and cleaning park building and bathrooms. Collects trash along trails, paths and operating buildings. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Weekends Required – Custodial Shift: 2PM-10PM.

Cannon Mountain Echo Lake Beach Retail Clerk/Dock Attendants
Varieties of responsibilities including working beach retail shop, cashing out customers, and helping customers with boats at beach dock. Experience using POS is preferred but not required. Willing to get into water to unhook and hook boats, canoes, and pedal boats. Basic knowledge of how to operate canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats preferred. Weekends Required –Shifts: 8AM – 6PM.
