Lafayette Campground & Cannon RV Park

LAFAYETTE PLACE CAMPGROUND

We are closed for summer 2023, thank you for a great season!

Primitive Camping is available at sites 1-28. Payment is required. Failure to pay is a punishable offense, sites are patrolled and violators will be removed and fined.

Site Fee: $20 per site/ per night to be paid at the Iron Ranger.
-Fill out envelope.
-Put cash in the envelope.
-Deposit envelope in the green Iron Ranger tube.
-Put receipt in the bag and attach to your tent w/ tie.
- Bags, ties and pencils are in the envelopes.

Please pack in and pack out. There is a pit toilet available, but no other facilities or amenities are open.

2023 GENERAL INFORMATION

Campground Details

The camping and hiking hub of the Notch is centrally located in the Park at Lafayette Place Campground. It provides a great base from which to enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and many attractions in the White Mountains. Information about hiking trails, safety, and the natural and cultural history of the park is available at the cabin near the campground entrance.

A lodge houses a registration desk and offers a selection of camping supplies. Each campsite is wooded and has a picnic table, car parking, and an open fireplace. There are coin-operated showers and a camp store.

Lafayette Campground provides 97 wooded tent sites - 88 are reservable, 7 are for first-come/first-served campers, and 1 is for youth group camping. Reservations for youth groups are required and must be made by calling: 603-271-3556.

The campground is open for reservations from May 19, 2023 - October 8, 2023. Primitive camping is available in the off-season with limited facilities. A pay station is provided for self-registration.

Check-In

- Check in at the camp store window.
- Check In is required PRIOR to going to your site.
- If you arrive after open hours, proceed to your reserved site. Check in the next morning.

Restroom Facilities

- Portable toilets are available 24hrs/day.
- Only 1 person or family group is allowed in bathrooms at one time.
- Restrooms will be cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis.

Camp Store Purchases

- The Camp store is open 8am-9pm.
-Stocked with basic necessities and snacks.

CAMPGROUND RULES

Pets are prohibited at Lafayette Place Campground.

All trash must be dropped off at the proper receptacles - please follow these guidelines.

Firewood from out of state (NH) is prohibited.

CANNON MOUNTAIN RV PARK

The RV Park is off season.

  • After Columbus Day through late-May, we go to off-season rates of $25/night and the RV Park will be carry-in, carry-out only with no water or sewer hookups. Electric hookup available.

RV PARK GENERAL 2023 INFORMATION

The 7-site RV park, located on the north shore of scenic Echo Lake, provides a great base from which to enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and many attractions in the White Mountains. This park provides three-way hook-ups, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Cannon Mountain RV Park is open year-round by reservation

  • May 26, 2023 through Columbus Day, there are water, sewer & electric hookups at full rate - $40/night.

RV PARK RULES

FIREWOOD FROM OUT OF STATE (NH) IS PROHIBITED

PETS ARE PROHIBITED

If you make a reservation and bring a pet with you, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation, deny access to the site and provide a refund, minus applicable fees.

Trash must be disposed of properly

All trash must be dropped off at the Lakeside General Store at Echo Lake Beach (adjacent to the RV Park) during business hours when a Franconia Notch State Park employee is present. Before or after business hours when employees are not present, please carry-out your trash. Please do not leave trash outside unattended at any time. We appreciate your cooperation.

Restrooms/Dumping Station Hours (subject to change)

  • All camping vehicles must be self-contained. There is no guarantee of availability of restroom facilities at Echo Lake Beach. There are no showers at Echo Lake Beach.

  • The Dumping Station in Echo Lake parking lot is CLOSED for the summer of 2023.

  • From June 17 - Labor Day, restroom facilities are available 9am-6pm daily.

  • From Labor Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend, restroom facilities at Echo Lake Beach will only be available 10am-5pm Fridays - Sundays, closed Mondays - Thursdays.

RV PARK RESERVATIONS

If you HAVE NOT MADE A RESERVATION through Reserve America:
check the reservation sheet at the ticket booth first, and DO NOT pull in to an open site with a RESERVED sign on it or into a site indicated as occupied on the reservation sheet.

Reservations are STRONGLY recommended and take priority over walk-ins.
If you pull in to a site with an existing reservation you WILL HAVE TO VACATE that site.

Overnight Camping is permitted ONLY in RV Sites 1-7 and overnight camping is not allowed in the parking lot.

WALK – IN POLICY
Walk-Ins are only accepted on a first-come first-served basis off-season beginning Columbus Day through the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend.
